Haven Gastropub +Brewery to Open in Pasadena

Fueled by the success of its first location in Orange County, the team behind Haven Gastropub will bring a distinct blend of old-world style and warmth to Old Pasadena as it opens its second location in fall 2011. Set to open 100 feet off Colorado Boulevard in the space formerly occupied by Brix 42 (42 S. De Lacey Avenue), the new Haven Gastropub +Brewery will stay true to the concept of serving quality, innovative “gourmet comfort food,” while featuring an on-site brewery.

Partners Greg Daniels, Wil Dee and Ace Patel reveal that the new 170-seat Haven Gastropub +Brewery will incorporate design elements similar to its sister location with leather booths, distressed wood tables and rustic candlelit wrought-iron chandeliers, while keeping the building’s historical barrel roof, which dates back to the 1920s. Guests will have the option to dine at comfortable mid-level tables and intimate booths, in addition to a 12-seat private dining room and 52-seat bar/lounge area.

Le Cordon Bleu-trained Executive Chef Daniels will offer a menu that will remain consistent with its original location, with dishes prepared entirely from scratch from locally sourced ingredients, humanely raised meats and sustainable seafood. Chef Daniels’ menu has been celebrated for its refreshing blend of old-world European dishes with a modern American twist.

Under the supervision of Head Brewer David Larsen, who has been with the Haven Gastropub team since it opened its O.C. location, Haven’s own uniquely crafted brews, featuring year-round brews and small-batch seasonal offerings, will be served among the new restaurant’s more than 40 rotating beers on draught.

In addition to the selection of rotating beers, Managing Partner & Beverage Director, Wil Dee, will oversee a beverage menu boasting more than 100 bottled craft beers, a worldly boutique wine list with nearly 50 wines by the glass, and a full bar selection of unique spirits focusing on an extensive whiskey and gin selection.
